http://motherboard.vice.com brings up a great point for a lot of Interspire users who aren’t running full HTTPS sites. If you have a login form built into your header for example, on an HTTP page, that POSTS to a HTTPS page, Chrome is going to warn users that there is a safety issue. I would highly suggest all Interspire Shopping Cart users start using full HTTPS on all pages, images, links and includes.
Tips for those making the changes… in the Panels directory, specifically HTTPHead.html, you will want to use the %%SitePath%% global. NEVER hardcode a http:// link to a .js or .css file. Simply use // and the browser will determine if the page is https or http and link accordingly.
Just a tip for all of those out there who are getting dinged by Google. Interspire has the build in feature from the store settings menu in the admin panel to force no www to www, and to force http to https. I recommend that if you choose www. or no www., force your choice and force https:// site wide. If your already not doing so, after making the change go through the entire site, especially the checkout process, the add to cart process, the my account area, etc… Anywhere of vital importance and make sure not a single http link is hard coded that might give the browser a chance to ruin a conversion by scaring off customers because a .css or .jpg was hard coded as http which would invalidate your entire checkout!
Best of luck everyone!
